Located in Gamiwala and Hakamwala Villages of Mansa District in Punjab, the Surya Urja Solar PV Plant is owned by Vector Green Surya Urja Pvt. Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Vector Green Energy Pvt. Ltd.). The electricity generated from this solar power plant is being supplied through the grid to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited under a long term Power Purchase Agreement.
Entering commercial operation in February of 2015, the Surya Urja Solar Plant is annually producing about 32.6 GWh of clean solar energy, sufficient to power on an average 26,000 Indian homes. The project will generate enough clean solar energy to displace approximately 32,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide annually.
